What is Blue Stripe?

Monday, August 1st, 2011

What is the Blue Stripe and is it important?

Blue-Stripe is a Brand Name of ToroAg®‘s irrigation line. They put the blue stripe on their tubing to identify their brand.

Toro’s drip tape is AquaTraxx®. Yes, the blue-stripe tells you how lay the Drip Tape in your field.  The stripe goes face up. The dripper/emitters are in the stripe and being face up makes it harder for them to become clogged.
Of course you must have a filter on your system, but occasionally debris can become trapped in the tape. If the dripper was face down, the debris would go down and possibly clog the dripper.
The Blue-Stripe Poly Tubing that we sell is high quality blank PE tubing made here in the USA. We sell it in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" sizes.  The larger sizes are known as Oval Hose.
NO, it does not matter where the stripe is laid on this blank tubing or hose.  Nor do you have to punch holes along the stripe — it does not make any difference where the holes are punched.
